Matt Shapiro is the hardest working, most dedicated drummer/human being I’ve ever known. He has an insatiable hunger for creativity and all that is fresh and new. His time and pocket feel are second to none, and I as a bass player couldn’t be more comfortable, assured, and free than playing in a rhythm section featuring Mr. Shapiro. He’s the best. Straight up.

As a touring drummer, I’m not home much. But if I ever need instruction about a certain pattern or need to overcome an issue in my playing, I always go to Matt to explain it to me in a way I can quickly absorb.

I’ve recorded, performed with, and produced hundreds of drummers. Matt is hands down my guy for consistency, power, and professionalism. I can always get what I want out of Matt. He’s open to suggestions and loves to provide what’s right for the song.

Matt Shapiro is the most consistent, precise, and focused drummer I have ever known. His passion for drumming, and for music as a whole, is shown in every aspect of his life and his playing. Matt’s incredible dedication to mastering his skill and technique, makes him one of the most formidable drummers on the scene today. No gimmicks. No BS.
